At Easington Colliery Primary School we value Physical Education (P.E.) and understand that there are many benefits to regular physical activity. Some of these benefits are listed below…
- Improved concentration
- Increases energy levels
- Strengthens heart, lungs, muscles and bones
- Teaches children basic movement skills
- Controls body weight
As P.E. is a compulsory part of the curriculum, children should bring their P.E. kit into school every week. This kit should come into school with your child every Monday morning and they will bring it home after they have used it that week. Children without kit will use spare kit that is kept in school.
Our yearly P.E. timetable is developed to teach children a range of key movement skills and gives them the opportunity to apply these skills in a range of different sports/sporting contexts. In addition to this we offer swimming for Key Stage 2 throughout the academic year and to KS1 during Summer term.
